Successful Outreach to Foreign-Born Consumers through Culture Brokering

Successful Outreach to Foreign-Born Consumers through Culture Brokering, a computer based tutorial in CD-Rom format for PC platforms, is still available. This self-instruction material features video clips from a Culture Brokering workshop that are closed captioned, a multiple choice test and certificate of completion.

Tutorial Cover The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Independent Living Management (RRTC-ILM) developed this computer based tutorial as a joint project with the Center for International Rehabilitation Research Information and Exchange (CIRRIE).

The tutorial is an adaptation of the monograph Culture Brokering: Providing Culturally Competent Rehabilitation Services to Foreign-Born Persons by Mary Ann Jezewski and Paula Sotnik. The RRTC-ILM has incorporated terminology, examples and case studies in a context relevant to independent living services for people with disabilities.

For more information or to purchase a copy of the tutorial ($20.00 per CD-Rom), contact: info@wnyilp.org
