Abstract: Advances in Diabetes care is rapid and constantly developing. The management of diabetic care now includes specialized devices such as glucose monitors, pen devices etc. In addition to these technical advances, it is important to acknowledge the role played by the Diabetes Nurse Specialist (DNS) in providing care. The DNS plays a major role in helping the patients reap the benefits from changes in care, continuing education and support. (CIRRIE Abstract)
