Abstract: The aim of this paper is to assess whether a visual medium in a multi media telecommunication environment can provide non speakers with the ability to supplement verbal text with nonverbal signals. The expected benefits for disabled users of such multi media system is smaller than traditionally assumed. (CIRRIE Abstract)
