Abstract: The use of the MMPI-2 has been considered inappropriate for adolescents although it is popular among Dutch clinical practice psychologists. The study presents an adaptation of the MMPI-2, the MMPI-A (A for adolescents) suitable for adolescents. This version is shorter with several new scales and is translated and normed for the Dutch language area. The reliability and the norms have been supported by research. The validity of the MMPI-A has been established in the US but is still in progress in the Netherlands. The construct and concurrent validity have been reported to be satisfactory. The findings in a population of delinquents are reported in this study. The users have positive reactions regarding the use of this scale.(CIRRIE Abstract)
