CIRRIE Institutional Linkage Program:
Information and Preliminary Application

Objectives:

The CIRRIE Institutional Linkage Program was created to strengthen and support pre-existing collaborative efforts between U.S. and international rehabilitation/disability research institutions. CIRRIE will fund one Institutional Linkage Grant per year with applications now being accepted for 2008.

Eligibility:

A U.S. institution that has evidence of prior contact and collaboration with an international counterpart may apply for the Institutional Linkage Grant. A clear vision of the benefits and outcomes of continued collaboration must be demonstrated. All funds must be spent within one year.

All funded activities and expenditures must be related to disability and rehabilitation research. The areas of disability and rehabilitation research are defined in the long range plan of the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research.

Procedures:

The application process can be initiated by the submission of the following form with preliminary information that will enable us to understand the basic contours of your collaboration. After we receive this, we may contact you for further information and send you guidelines for a more complete proposal. The deadline for 2009 funding is October 1, 2008. U.S. institutions that have not yet begun a collaborative association with an international rehabilitation/disability counterpart are encouraged to investigate CIRRIE's Standard Exchange or Minority Serving Institutions Programs.
